Happy Birthday!

Its my mom's birthday today. I wish I was there celebrating with her. I love you Mom!

Oh Canada.

Right now I am on my way (finally) to ottawa to visit two of my favorite people in the whole wide world, my sister Lauren and her boyfriend/I wish he was my boyfriend Dustin. We plan to spend the weekend relaxing, drinking wine, watching box sets, eating good food and soaking up each-others love! Can't wait.

Yahoo!!

Yes the weekend is finally here! It's time to pop the champagne and get our dance on. I want to party like it's 1999 tonight!

Stitched Up!

Dani the best is seen here shortening and making adjustments to a vintage black dress I just picked up at Black Market in Toronto. It was too long and awkward but had so much potential so the sweet girl that she is, is currently fixing it up by hand! Who knew she was so handy? Stay posted to see the finished LBD. Go Danielle!

I hope winter never comes.

Bon Appetit!

Today, my roommate Brittany and our friend Catherine and I, dined at this wonderful gem of a restaurant.  It's called Cafe Lola Rosa and serves amazing vegetarian food!  The mood is warm and inviting and on sunny days like today, there are garage windows that open the place up to the buzz of milton street. An amazing feature to this lovely spot is the menus are not put in front of you, but they surround you on chalkboards hanging on the walls.  It's unique and delicious, a winning combination.

Wasted on the Way

I have started using my Polaroid camera in Toronto, it feels right.
I apologize for the mess, it was late.
The Paterson Boys!

How very Hollywood

Movie man Matt Zien, a dear friend and brilliant director, has recently finished his film entitled "Class Savage". Although i have yet to preview the movie (send it matt..) I have full hope that Matt will no doubt see his name in lights one day. Congratulations Matt!

Click here to view the trailer and read more about "Class Savage".

Hot child in the city.

One way to beat the heat in this muggy city is to sweat to some good music! One thing my favorite cousin Jason informed me was of all the amazing opportunities to see concerts in toronto! This month I have Pete Rock, Jason Mraz and a Fleetwood Mac cover band! Can't Wait.

I want you! I want you so baaaaddd.

Brynn Roach, alexa's little sis and my pseudo sis is truly missed by both of us. No one does a better harmony or makes a better dance then this little shining star. We miss you!

Study break.

So I hate studying, and i hate reading boring books that takes you forever to obtain any sort of useful information and you end up reading paragraphs over and over again.  So to ease my mind from time to time, i tend to close my books and let myself listen to one song from start to finish.  Right now i am really into the Tings Tings and Great DJ is an amazing track, that is even better to just jump around and dance to!  Literally throw those books to the floor and dance, you'll enjoy it.

A new member of the gang..

This is my new friend Zoe St- Aubin. Besides the fact that she has a wicked name, she's fun, sassy and oh so witty. Welcome to the club Miss. St-Aubin!

you know you love us

A Born Fashionista.

My friend Claire told me about this website and i've become so equally fascinated and addicted with this amazing sixteen year-old fashionista Jane Aldridge and her amazing blog.  Her website is called sea of shoes,  dedicated to her love of amazing shoes.  It's a must see.

Tam Tams

My memories from my first days in my new home in Montreal are very blurry.  Frosh events left no room for sleep, no room for soberness, and no room for crystal clear memories.  But as the five days came to an end i'll always remember my friends and i heading up the hill for an amazing day at Tam Tams.  For those of you who aren't familiar with this event, Tam Tams happens every sunday in the summer where various people, old and young, play drums.  It attracts many different personas who sit and listen to this amazing event.  On this very sunday, as we were all running on our last amounts of energy, and we simply sat, smoked, and ate Thai express, soaking up the sound of the drums and the heat of the sun.  We even got up and danced: believe it.

Partner in Crime

Living here in Toronto with me is one of my best friends, Danielle Simons. We've decorated, cleaned, scrubbed and stripped our place to make it look like home! If we can survive moving day together their is nothing we can't do! Danielle is an environmentalist and even though she constantly nags me to keep my plastic shopping bags I still love her anyways.

Welcome to the Jungle

3 blocks from my house resides Dundas Square which is Canada's attempt at what looks like a mini times Square. Recently the crosswalks at younge and dundas has become "Priority Crossing". Which is a scramble of people walking diagonally, forward, backward and sideways all within 18 seconds. I have become a HUGE fan of priority crossing. It's quick, efficient and so much fun.

I have the west coast blues.

The last day together in our beloved city. I am reminded of the sugar sweet air and salty ocean breeze as my hair is beginning to curl from the humidity in toronto. I miss you vancouver!

The living's easy.

I'd like to take a moment, before the leaves start falling from the trees, before the days get shorter and shorter, and before little dresses are no longer promiisscually used to show off bronzed legs but worn with black tights, to remember summer 08.  It was a summer that started out with all our friends as close as could be, and ended with everyone heading in different directions.  It dawned on me the other day that not only will i miss the great city of Vancouver, but i will also greatly miss weekend trips to resort areas such as Whistler, BC.  One of my fondest summer 08 memories was shared by my co-blogger as we drank, danced and smoked our night away.  When you start the night out playing the board game "passout," you know it's bound to be memorable.

The night didn't look as glorious the next morning!

The ocean breathes salty.

As the beautiful city of Vancouver grows further and further in our past, i am coming to realize how much i miss the ocean.  Throughout troubled times during my high school days, i would seek long walks for support, and i would find something so soothing and comforting as i stared out at the vast body of water.  It sounds cliche; however, problems seem minimal when one embraces the ambiance the ocean projects.  Even in such a beautiful and culturally rich city as Montreal, i am yet to find a view so equally intense and therapeutic as the glistening sea.
